NOTE: This position will be filled as needed, pending student enrollment.

ESYS Dates: June 10-June 27 and July 9-25 (Tues. - Thurs.) ESYS is not held on July 2-4
ESYS Lead Teacher Times: 9:00-2:00
Extra Work Dates: June 10 (9:00-12:00); July 25 (Elementary 1:30-2:30; Secondary 2:00-3:00)
Total Work Hours: 94 hours

 

Job Description:
Effectively plan for, and administer the Ectended School Year Services Program by preparing activities and coordination services for students.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The ESYS Lead will work extensively with Special Education Director, Special Education
Coordinator, ACL Specialist, Human Resources Department, Transportation Department, and
Teachers to ensure appropriate services and supports during ESYS. Essential Duties and
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

 

* Staffing allocations for ESYS teachers and Instructional Associates in accordance with
student IEP, which would include ensuring that all necessary training for provision of special
education program to individual students is completed prior to beginning of ESYS services.
* Ensuring that all ESYS staff members have access to each student’s IEP and any Behavior
Intervention Plan, as appropriate.
* Coordination of communication between ESYS staff and case-managers to ensure necessary
instructional materials and other supports are in place prior to ESYS.
* Coordination of transportation requirements including any necessary support personnel in
accordance with student IEPs.
* Coordination of any medical services necessary during ESYS to include ensuring protocols for
distribution of medication are in place and followed.
* Oversight and supervision of instructional and behavioral programs during ESYS activities to
ensure all obligations to the IEPs and BIPs are met.
* Ongoing availability to ESYS staff during ESYS hours for the purpose of supporting
implementation of instructional and behavior plans as well as crisis response procedures.

* Performs other duties as assigned.
