PRIMARY PURPOSE: 
 
As a current university/college student, the HR internship position is designed to develop and guide a student for a career in human resources. The candidate will assist the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources and other HR personnel with various HR tasks. Major work responsibilities will include, but not limited to, HR special projects, technology related HR refinements, and developing statistical/data based reports.
 
QUALIFICATIONS: 
 
           Education/Certification:
           Currently enrolled college student purposing a bachelor’s or advanced level degree
 
           Special Knowledge/Skills:
           Clerical/secretarial skills
           Knowledge of telephone etiquette
           Strong interpersonal and communication skills
           Ability to use personal computer to do word processing and spreadsheets
 
           Experience: 
            None
 
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
 
1.Recruitment and reference checking.
 
2. Provide support to HR departmental personnel.
 
3.Perform compliance audits on behalf of HRD.
 
4.Perform district wide job analysis for HRD.
 
5. Complete HR Special projects.
 
6. Maintain confidentiality of information.
 
7.Promote a positive and professional work environment.
 
8.Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.
 
 
EQUIPMENT USED: 
 
Use personal computer, multi-line telephone, copier, fax machine, and other general office equipment.
