PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Maintain, repair, and assemble district custodial equipment. Assist with integrated pest management duties. Perform custodial cleaning duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED preferred
Valid driver’s license
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Must possess and demonstrate mechanical skills
Ability to operate power equipment, hand and power tools
Must possess basic computer skills
Experience:
Minimum two years of experience in general custodial equipment repair area preferred
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- 1. Support the educational goals of the district.
- Accept and complete custodial equipment repair work orders and assignments for district facilities.
- Maintain updated computer records of all district custodial equipment.
- Develop new skills to meet new responsibilities in repairing custodial equipment.
- Assist outside contractors to complete custodial equipment repairs and installation as needed.
- Communicate with campus custodial staff regarding custodial equipment repairs.
- Regular attendance; must be willing and able to report to work at designated site on a regular daily basis according to established work schedule.
- Comply with district and departmental policies and procedures.
- Assist with relocation of furnishings, such as desks, tables, chairs, file cabinets, etc.
- Assist with integrated pest management duties.
- Follow district policy concerning uniforms.
- Must be able to perform custodial cleaning duties as required.
- Must be able to perform all responsibilities and duties of the job.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor which may include but are not limited to: minor maintenance of building and grounds, moving and/or assembling furniture, loading/unloading and distribution of supplies and equipment.
EQUIPMENT USED:
Hand tools, ladders, straight and step, wheelbarrow, pneumatic tools, electric tools, and operate a motor vehicle

Mental Demands:
Ability to use verbal and written communication; understand verbal instructions; maintain control in stressful situations; act appropriately in emergencies
Physical Demands:
Lifting heavy loads, carrying heavy loads, walking long distances, pulling, pushing, kneeling, crouching, driving light trucks and traveling daily using district vehicles
Environmental Factors:
Working outside in extremes of heat and cold, working in rain, uneven and slippery surfaces, exposure to dusts, vapors, sunlight exposure, works around machinery with moving parts, works with hands in water and occasional prolonged/irregular hours.
