PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Facilitate the efficient operation of an administrative department office and provide clerical services to the department of Teaching, Learning, and Assessments directors. Assist with daily operation of the departmental office and provide clerical services to the TLA Department.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Proficient typing, keyboarding, and file maintenance skills
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets and databases
Experience:
Three years secretarial experience, preferably in public school environment
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Prepare correspondence, memorandums, forms, requisition request forms, and reports for office.
- Maintain physical and computerized departmental files.
- Keep up-to-date files for all department employees.
- Answer incoming calls, take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff.
- Regular attendance; must be willing and able to report to work at the designated work site on regular daily basis according to established work schedule.
- Maintain inventory and order office supplies for department.
- Welcome all visitors and handle their requests or refer them to appropriate personnel.
- Receive, sort, and distribute mail and other documents to department staff.
- Maintain effective rapport with general public and handle any problems or concerns in a prompt and courteous manner.
- Maintain a schedule of appointments for supervisor.
- Oversee and manage the maintenance of office equipment and supplies.
- Maintain confidentiality of information.
- Assist with student transfer process.
- Assist with Elementary LPAC records.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Personal computer, printer, copier/scanner, telephone, and other general office equipment

Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); ability to maintain emotional control under stress
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Repetitive hand motions, prolonged use of computer; works with frequent interruptions; occasional in-district travel in personal vehicle. School district employees may be required to work from home and use their personal electronic devices.
