PRIMARY PURPOSE:

 

Responsible for implementing and maintaining electronic Child Nutrition software accountability system. Provide technical and cashier training and all other support for department staff. Follow established procedures to process purchase orders and invoices for department.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

            Education/Certification:

            High School diploma or GED

 

            Special Knowledge/Skills:

            Knowledge of the NutriKids accountability system preferred

Proficient skills in typing, computer, point-of-sale cash register/computers and accountability system

Trouble shooting and repair preferred

Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel computer programs

Knowledge of cafeteria operations including managing, ordering, and inventory

Effective organizational, communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to train others in NutriKids accountability system preferred

Ability to keep information confidential

Ability to be flexible and work on several different projects at the same time

Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

 

            Experience:

            Minimum one year related work experience preferred

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

 

  1. Responsible to maintain, update, and import Direct Certification, Homeless, Foster, Migrant, Head Start and PK student list of eligibility students.

 

  1. Prepare and maintain required reports relating to counting and claiming edit checks and USDA monthly reimbursement claim.

 

  1. Conduct site visits to audit the proper use of cashier-end-of-day procedures and daily bank deposits procedures for NutriKids accountability system.

 

  1. Maintain reports and reconciliation of daily bank deposit slips for cafeteria campuses.

 

  1. Prepare requested meal tickets for students and adults.

 

  1. Responsible to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair NutriKids accountability system for the department; including Menu Planning system.

 

  1. Maintain and update Child Nutrition Services webpage.

 

  1. Monitor campus computer use and provide technical, telephone, remote, and on-site support for all related software, hardware, data, and communication systems.

 

  1. Maintain and update all menus on District website and digital menu boards for cafeteria serving lines.

 

  1. Assume responsibility of department work orders to District’s Maintenance department and Technology department.

 

  1. Assume responsibility of assigning floater employees to cafeteria campus.

 

  1. Communicates daily with Associate Director on cafeteria absenteeism.

 

  1. Assist cashier at campus cafeterias as needed

 

  1. Prepare instructional material to conduct cashier training for new employees and on-going training for cashiers and cafeteria managers in use of NutriKids accountability system.

 

  1. Assume responsibility for scheduling district catering services, set up at events, process invoices, and log equipment on loan from Child Nutrition department.

 

  1. Assume responsibility for accounts payable, including but not limited to processing and reviewing requisitions, purchase orders and invoices for accuracy for department vendors.

 

  1. Responsible to communicate with vendors in requesting information to set up new vendors for purchase orders, including matching invoices and attach receiving slips.

 

  1. Responsible for ordering food and non-food supplies, reconciliation of shortage orders, and other related problems.

 

  1. Responsible in training and monitoring managers on vendor food ordering.

 

  1. Distributes and maintains vehicle gas cards for Child Nutrition department.

 

  1. Assist with preparation of forecasting budget, bids and product information for department.

 

  1. Assist department Directors with recommendations for District Child Nutrition program.

 

  1. Regular attendance; must be willing and able to report to work at the designated work site on regular daily basis according to established work schedule.

 

  1. Attend training classes and summer workshops as assigned

 

  1. Assist in receiving and responding to incoming call and walk-ins, take reliable messages, and route to all appropriate staff.

 

  1. Receive, sort, and distribute mail and other documents to department staff.

 

  1. Keeps informed and complies with state, district, and school policy regulations concerning primary job functions.

 

  1. Demonstrate professional, ethical, and moral standards.

 

  1. Must be able to perform all responsibilities and duties of the job.

 

  1. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

 

EQUIPMENT USED:

Large and small kitchen equipment and tools including electric slicer, mixer, pressure steamer; sharp cutting tools; ovens; dishwasher; and food and utility cart.

            Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

Continual standing, walking, pushing, and pulling; frequent carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling, sweeping, mopping and climbing (ladder); taking trash to outside dumpster; ability to lift up to 40 pounds; moderate exposure to extreme hot and cold; occasional in-district and out of district travel in personal vehicle as assigned
