JOB TITLE: Parent Liaison 
WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Nonexempt
REPORTS TO: Principal
DEPT. /SCHOOL: Campus Assigned

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Strengthen and improve student’s response to and benefit from school through cooperative home/school relations. Assist parents in development of activities and selection of services and/or resources which will enhance the child’s opportunity for success in school.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Education/Certification
High School Diploma or GED
Valid Texas Driver’s License
Special Knowledge and Skills
Strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of community resources preferred
Able to communicate in Spanish (verbal and written)

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist in informing parent of services available to their children.
2. Assist parents with their volunteer services at school.
3. Assist in planning and conducting activities at school for parents.
4. Assist in taking students, with their parents, to receive medical services, social services, obtain clothing or other needed services.
5. Participate as a team member in the planning, implementing and evaluating the Parent Involvement Program.
6. Serve as a liaison between district personnel, parents and the Coordinator of Federal Programs.
7. Provide consultation to teachers and administrators who work with pupils receiving Title 1 and local compensatory services according to assigned campus.
8. Serve as liaison between the services provided by the school district and services available in the community, region and/or state.
9. Provide information to help students, parents and staff understand the various services provided by the Title 1 program and the local district.
10. Collaborate with federal programs staff.
11. Comply with Title VII and Title 1 parts A and C program requirements according to assigned campus.
12. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Mental Demands:
Reading, ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written), maintain emotional control under stress.

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Occasional district wide travel in personal vehicle and/or district-owned vehicle; occasional prolonged, irregular hours.
